This month an inspirational film is coming to a cinema near you: Precious. Precious is based on the book Push by Sapphire and is the story of an obese, illiterate, abused, 16 year old Claireece "Precious" Jones, who is moved to an alternative school after it is discovered she is expecting her second child. While at the school she decides to change her life’s direction and build a better childhood for both her children. Precious features a number of stars including Mariah Carey as a social worker, and Lenny Kravitz as a nurse and on top of this the film have received over 30 awards. This film has a strong message of hope and aspiration, but at the same time is very dark and not for the faint-hearted. So if you fancy being part of the touching phenomenon that swept the states, look out for Precious at your local cinema from January 29th.
