'SHANK'
9th March 2010 by ross

'Shank' is the brand spanking new film from the distributors of Kidulthood. Starring Kaya Scodelario, Adam Deacon, Bashy, Michael Socha, Jan Uddin, and introducing Kedar Williams-Stirling. Set in a decaying London in 2025, all of London is controlled by gangs. While filming, the residents complained about the use of violence and how it presented gangs and gang rivalry. The film has a massive social networking following, having they're own Facebook, Myspace, twitter and Youtube. Visit the website for the Shank radio, where they have competitions for the Exclusive Shank soundtrack and a chance to go to the premiere party. The film is worth waiting for, for another taste of London gangster flavour. With a youthful feel from the young cast and live performances from Tempa T and D Double E, The film will be over flowing with adrenaline, and also a scary view of how we might be living in 15 years time. http://www.shankthefilm.com/
The Red Capets down..

The Oscars have rolled around again. And of course everyone is going to concentrate on the most important thing. Who is the best and worst dressed? Last year, there was an amazing array of jaw dropping designs. Penelope Cruz was probably the most beautiful dressed celebrity at the awards ceremony, wearing a Pierre Balmain 1950's haute couture dress. She also won the award for best supporting role in Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Sarah Jessica Parker also looked amazing in a Dior Haute Couture silver dress. Rachel Wood wore a Ellie Saab garment. Simple but beautiful, even though she has worn a little too much make up, compared to the natural beauty of Cruz. Angelina Jolie also wore Saab, choosing a piece from the 09 Spring Couture collection. Unfortunately, the dress was barely recognizable, as Jolie had had it modified so much. She had a modified bustier and chose to show off her endless legs with a large side split. Still, she looked beautiful as always. However, I'm not quite sure what her stylist was think, when she her those Green Pat Butcher style earrings. The Oscars last year wasn't a complete elegant affair, as Heidi Klum, who wore RM by Rouland Mouret dress, in a bold red and over accessorizing. This year will definitely be another show on beautiful couture dresses, and not so. I definitely will be staying up to see the outcomes.
Welcome Back Colour!
5th March 2010 by ross

Spring has sprung and so it's about time we projected a little colour into our lives. Even if you're not a colour freak, maybe add a little colour into your make up. MAC have just released their colour forecast for spring, which include tickle Pinks, sensuous Corals, naughty Plum and lastly precious, golden Ambers. The palettes are full of beautiful colours, in a range of eye shadows, bright metal pigments, lipsticks and nail polishes. These colours definitely would pull anyone out of the winter blues. My favourite piece of the collection is the plum limited edition colour palette, which includes one neutral soft pink and three deep and sensual purples. The purples would definitely stand out amazingly, while wearing these Apple Bottom purple diamante logo jeans. Like every collection that MAC release, they always sell out, so I would definitely move fast to get a piece of the colour revival. http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/

Bringing Attitude Back to the Music Industry!
1st March 2010 by ross

Recently we had the pleasure of meeting an extremely talented and creative artist, going under the name of 'NY'. NY is a female singer/ songwriter from North London, presently causing a storm on the UK Urban Scene. There's an immense amount of hype around this young artist, who's been fortunate enough to work with the likes of Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk, Wiley and Plan B. NY has also toured with 'The Count & Sinden', which took her around Europe doing festivals like Glastonbury, Roskilde, Pukkle pop and Gate Crasher. With all this, she's still completely down to earth and a big fan of the Apple Bottoms brand. If your loved Misteeq back in the day, then you will love NY for her urban girl power take on the Music Industry http://www.myspace.com/nyofficial http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ny-Official
It's So Bright' It's Illegal

Lime Crime the 'Super Bright' Cosmetics Company is making itself known to the world. With the eccentric founder, Doe Deer, a make-up artist, model and entrepreneur is breaking out of the cracks of Internet shopping only, and onto the shop floors. The range was made after Deere found that most cosmetic companies didn't go out of what they saw as the acceptable colour boundaries. So she was set on making her own intensely pigmented eye shadows and lipsticks. The cosmetic range has been highly recommended throughout the Internet, and is a favourite of kooky Fashion designer Emma Bell. Unfortunately at the moment, Lime Crime is only available in stores in Canada but hopefully will be hitting the UK in the next couple of months.

Here are the new voices of Viva Glam...and what voices they are! Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga love lipstick and they love fashion so a perfect combo right? The message is simple, they want to tell girls all over the world how to keep their love life safe, seductive and satisfying with eyes wide open to the facts about women and HIV/AIDS. On 1st March Sharon Osbourne hosts as Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper take part in An Audience With... event to promote make-up brand's newest fund-raising range. All proceeds from the sale of the limited edition products are donated to HIV/AIDS charities via the MAC AIDS Fund. Who needs another excuse to purchase a new lippy? http://www.macaidsfund.org/

London Fashion Week
22nd February 2010 by ross

London has been swamped with fashionistas in the last week. Those who were lucky enough to be invited to Vivienne Westwood's Red Label show were in for a treat. Climate change was a key inspiration factor and the theme "Loyalty 2 Gaia," emphasised Westwood's love and respect to Mother Earth. The organic colours of deep reds and browns looked stunning on the models who were dressed in beautifully draped materials. Our favourite at Apple Bottoms is the ocean blue shirt and sequin mini...something we will definitely rocking out in the months to come.
